DESCRIPTION
Coffee is a brewed drink prepared from roasted coffee beans, the seeds of berries from certain flowering plants in the Coffea genus.
Kenya produces high quality Arabica coffee (80-100 points on the Specialty Coffee Association of America (SCAA) quality scale).

Grading is as follows:
- AA: Screen size of 7.2 Millimetres (size 18). This grade of coffee is priced higher than other grades
- AB: Screen size of 6.8 Millimetres (size 17).
- PB: Pea berry beans.
- E: Elephant beans. A rare variety with the largest beans.
- C: Screen size 14 and 15.
- TT: These are smaller beans
- T: Smallest grade of (mainly broken) beans.
World Production
- Worldwide 10,035,576 tonnes of coffee is produced per year.
- Brazil is the largest coffee producer in the world with 3,009,402 tonnes production per year.
- Vietnam comes second with 1,683,971 tonnes yearly production.
- With 885,120 tonnes of production per year, Colombia is the third largest producer of coffee.
- Brazil, Vietnam and Colombia produce together more than 50 % of world’s total coffee globally.
- United States of America, with 2,320 tonnes of production per year is ranked at 50.
