DESCRIPTION
Cardamom is a tropical perennial bush in the ginger family native to southern
India and Sri Lanka. It is also grown in Vietnam, Guatemala, and Tanzania. It is
one of the most expensive spices in the world, a fact explained in part by its
relatively limited growing area and the laborious harvesting process. Cardamom
is called the queen of spices in India (pepper is the king), and the best green
cardamom comes from Kerala.
