DESCRIPTION
Aniseeds, native to the Middle East, are one of the oldest-known spices. The
plant is a delicate annual related to caraway, cumin, dill, and fennel. In fact, in
India, both fennel seeds and aniseeds are called saunf because they resemble
each other so closely. Anise is now grown in Turkey, India, Spain, North Africa,
Greece, Mexico, Central America, and other temperate regions.
